Brno City Hospital

The topic of this diploma thesis is The Projection of the Building of the Municipal hospital of the city (of) Brno. This thesis is based on the knowledge gained from the course NGA056 - The specialized atelier. The main area is located in the part of Brno called Ponava, just opposite (nearby) the Lužánky park.This specific area only enables projection of a block type of a hospital that would have several floors. This plot is mainly flat having a slight scope. The area is now built-up by just one-floor ruined buildings and also by the Ice rink Lužánky. There is a link-up variety of traffic connections from all of the sides since the plot is detour. The building of the hospital is designed as a six-floor building in the shape of cuboid with large atriums inside of the object. The first and the second floors are the largest of all of the floors - covering the whole hospital floor plan. The third and the fourth floors are "jumped" from the perimeter of the building and are formed in the mass that hes shape of fingers. The fifth and the sixth floor are designed in the shape of a letter H. There is an another six-floor corner building attached to this part that is copying the street line. There is also a possibility of enlarging the hospital on the marked spare area. The object is visually designed as a cuboid mass with atriums and a corner building. The main part of the hospital is designed with a white colour and some golden horizontal panels that are actually connecting it with the corner object, where is also additionally added a 3D facade element - in a meaning of a golden alluminium sun-shields. Structurally, the building is designed as a reinforced concrete monolith, a two-way system with Deltabeam steel girders for more variable and economical wiring in ceilings.
Paliative care from the point of view of non-medical healthcare workers

This bachelor thesis describes dying from the view of nurses and compares implementing principles of paliative care of the dying patient lying on a hospital bed with care in a hospice. The goal of this work was to find out how nurses with practice in both types of institutions look at this care and what differences between them they recognize. The theoretical part involves definitions of basic notions and introduces the the whole themes of dying to the reader. Also basic principles, thoughts and values, that paliative medicine has and practices, will be mentioned. Further it submits basic information about history of this specialization in our country and also in the world, approaches typical expressions and problems of a dying patient and explains what specifics the hospice institutions have and what kind of care they provide. For the comparison, there will be also described how the paliative care for the patient in the terminal phase laying on a hospital bed is implemented. The basis for this part will be mainly appropriate literature and internet sources. For the empirical part the method of qualitative research was chosen. 1 Criminal liability in health care (abstract in English) The purpose of this rigorous thesis is to point out the criminal liability of health services providers, particular for doctors as individuals as well as for hospitals as legal entities. This thesis is divided into four chapters and, moreover, the integral part of it is also one attachment. The first chapter defines the basic legal terms in health care, such as informed consent, informed disagreement, the lege artis procedure, medical documentation and confidentiality. These institutions appear in health care mostly and their detailed definition will help the reader to better understand the goal of this work. Due to the fact that this thesis is aimed to criminal liability, the particular legal terms are defined especially in criminal matters too. The second chapter entitled as Criminal offences in health care hides in itself the individual crimes that a doctor may commit during the performance of his profession, both intentionally and negligently. In this chapter, not all crimes are defined, but especially those that occur to be most frequently in health care, eventually those which appear to be the most interesting in relation with the health care. History of the hospital of St. John the Babtist in Jindřichův Hradec in the early Modern Age

The theme of this master thesis is History of the hospital of St. John the Babtist in Jindřichův Hradec in the early Modern Age. This thesis is focused on the first period of its functioning. The first chapter shortly describes a bibliography of this theme published in the Czech Republic and a German bibliography. Next two chapters introduce materials survived in the fund Ústav chudých u sv. Jana Křtitele v Jindřichově Hradci and history of charitable institutions functioned in Jindřichův Hradec since the middle of 13th century. Some of them became the base of the hospital of St. John the Babtist. The chapter about the hospital of St. John the Babtist is focused on its own history. This chapter introduces property and financial base, an inner organisation and a daily course of this hospital based on founding documents, instruction and on other archive materials.
The hospital of St. John the Baptist in Jindřichův Hradec in the early Modern Ages

The theme of this bachelor thesis is the presentation of the history of charitable institutions in the Jindřichův Hradec manor topped with establishment of the hospital of St. John the Baptist. For outline and understanding the context, there was delineated the development of the similar institutions in the Czech Lands to the early Modern Ages in the first part of the paper. There are also mentioned some basic problems and important phenomena leading to the establishment of the hospital of St. John the Baptist. The chapter about the hospital of St. John the Baptist is based on the foundation and endowment deed and the extant instructions from his founder Jáchym from Hradec.
